Carolina Chocolate Drops perform Thursday
Grammy winning banjo and fiddle folk artists will perform Thursday as part of Mississippi State University's Lyceum Series. General admission tickets for the Carolina Chocolate Drops' 7:30 p.m. performance are available at the Campus Activities Office in Suite 300 of the Colvard Student Union or by calling 662-325-2930. Tickets also may be purchased online at www.lyceum.msstate.edu.
Humanities series welcomes author, career diplomat
Charles Hill, a retired U.S. diplomat now researching and writing on international affairs, is the next speaker for Mississippi State's Institute for the Humanities Distinguished Lecture Series.
Flu shot clinic on tap this week
University Health Services has scheduled a series of flu shot clinics this fall, and the next one will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 350 of the MSU Student Health Center. In order to keep our campus healthy, everyone is urged to get a flu shot.
MSU Cheese Store: extended hours, holiday orders
The staff at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Sales Store, located on Mississippi State University's campus, is encouraging patrons to place orders now for the holidays and to take advantage of products that make great additions to the tailgate. The store's famous cheese and other products sell quickly during the holiday season.
Cristil, Salter signing books before home games
Jack Cristil and author Sid Salter will be selling and signing Salter's just-released biography of the university's legendary sports announcer before Mississippi State's two remaining home football games this month.
Athletic Department launches official iPad app
The Mississippi State Athletic Department, in partnership with Bulldog Sports Properties and digital media partner NeuLion, Inc. (TSX:NLN), announced the launch of its official iPad application last Wednesday. MSU is one of the first schools in the Southeastern Conference to have developed an iPad app.

The Basketball Bulldogs also host South Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m.... Men's Tennis plays the USTA Future Pensacola this week... Women's Tennis opens play in the Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Courts in Sarasota, Fla., on Friday... Volleyball is on the road to Athens for a 6 p.m. Friday match against Georgia and takes on Auburn at 1 p.m. Sunday, which will be broadcast by SportSouth... Women's Basketball hosts Jacksonville State at the Hump at 7 p.m. Friday.
