B.B. King headlines 2011-12 Lyceum Series
Delta-born blues music icon B.B. King kicks off the 2011-12 Mississippi State University Lyceum Series season with an Oct. 11 concert. The season also features the Carolina Chocolate Drops, TALK Dance Company, The Acting Company's performance of "Julius Caesar," and the St. Lawrence String Quartet.
Cohen receives contract extension through 2015
Mississippi State baseball coach John Cohen, who led the Bulldogs to within one game of the College World Series and a No. 15 national ranking, has received a contract extension through the 2015 season
Aysa Besova Cooley joins MSU Foundation
The Mississippi State University Foundation recently welcomed Asya Besova Cooley as assistant director of annual giving. Cooley, who began her duties June 22, will support efforts to secure annual gifts for the land-grant institution.
Dairy science encyclopedia guided by MSU expert
A comprehensive reference publication on the various aspects of dairy science was recently published under the leadership of a long-time Mississippi State professor. John Fuquay, now professor emeritus in the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences, is editor-in-chief of the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Dairy Science.
Bully XIX euthanized due to declining health
TaTonka Gold, Mississippi State's beloved mascot from 2001-09, was euthanized last Tuesday morning at the School of Veterinary Medicine on the Starkville campus after his health had steadily declined over the past few years.
