Campus celebrates Arbor Day Friday
Mississippi State celebrates Arbor Day this Friday with a morning of activities. The university will be planting this month instead of the nationally-observed month of April because planting conditions for trees are better now.

Men's Basketball is on the road to Kentucky on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. tipoff on ESPN, and will host Ole Miss Saturday at 12:30 p.m., which will be broadcast by SEC Network affiliates... Women's Basketball hosts Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. Thursday, and travels to Florida for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff on Sunday... Softball opens the Bulldog Round-Robin against Louisiana Tech on Friday at 3 p.m. Play continues through the weekend... Baseball opens weekend play Friday at 4 p.m. against Akron. Women's Tennis hosts Southern Miss Saturday at 1 p.m. and Troy State Sunday at 1 p.m.

Sid Salter named journalist-in-residence

Neil deGrasse Tyson visits Tuesday
Best-selling author and noted astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will be on campus Tuesday. Sponsored by the Bagley College of Engineering's Distinguished Lecture Series, Tyson's visit culminates with his "A Decade of Cosmic Discovery" presentation at Humphrey Coliseum. The 7 p.m. program is free to all.
MSU Libraries exhibit highlights Black History Month
A new display is currently on exhibit in Mitchell Memorial Library highlighting new African-American library materials in honor of Black History Month at Mississippi State University.
