PCSW hosts Food for Thought midweek luncheon
Continuing its lunchtime series devoted to topics of interest to women at Mississippi State, the university's President's Commission on the Status of Women will host a Food for Thought luncheon Wednesday in 339 McCool.
The topic is "Life as a New Parent at MSU: What You Need to Know." Areas covered will range from "lactation rooms and tenure clocks to leave and daycare," said the Department of History's Anne Marshall, program chair.
Presenters include Carol Jones, director of Aiken Village Preschool, a program of MSU's Early Childhood Institute; Meghan Millea, associate professor of economics, who will discuss leave and tenure clock policy as it relates to women; and a Human Resources Management specialist.
The commission is providing lunch to the first 25 who attend the 11:45 a.m. program.
"Our program committee is developing a list of topics that have broad-ranging impact on women in all their roles at our university," Marshall said. "We welcome suggestions from others on campus."
