AD announces Galbraith, Thomas promotions
Joe Galbraith and Chad Thomas have been promoted to assistant director of athletics for media relations and assistant director of athletics for marketing, respectively, Mississippi State Athletic Director Scott Stricklin announced last week.
Galbraith, a native of Metairie, La. and a 2001 graduate of Mississippi State, has been at the university since 2005. He began his career at the University of Massachusetts before spending four years at Florida Citrus Sports, a non-profit organization in Orlando which hosts the Capital One and Champs Sports Bowls among other events.
A 1996 graduate of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Galbraith came to Mississippi State in 2005 as assistant director of media relations and served as the secondary football contact before taking over as the primary contact prior to the 2009 football season.
Thomas, originally from Louisville, Ky. and a 2000 graduate of St. Xavier High School, came to Mississippi State in 2004 after earning his bachelor's degree at the University of Kentucky in May of that year. He spent the 2004-06 seasons as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the football and men's tennis teams and was named coordinator of athletic marketing in August of 2007.
Thomas received a master's degree in science in May of 2006 and his master of business administration degree in 2007. He has overseen the athletic department's marketing efforts for the past four years.
