Bisson selected for 2011 honors faculty award
A religion and philosophy specialist is Mississippi State's 2011 Outstanding Honors Program Faculty Member.
Albert Bisson, an instructor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, was selected through a formal nomination process conducted by the MSU Honor's Council. The award includes a $1,000 prize.
Bisson is originally from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. He joined MSU in 2004 and holds multiple degrees including two master's degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson. His research interests include Judeo-Christian theology and history, Old and New Testament exegetical and ethical studies, and philosophy of religion.
Established in 1968, the University Honors Program provides focused, personalized academic experiences for talented students in all fields of study. An organization with some 1,000 members each academic year, it is a charter member of the Southern Regional Honors Council.
