Walters named 2013 Grisham Master Teacher

Mississippi State mathematics instructor Kimberly Walters will be the featured speaker Wednesday [Nov. 20] for the university's John Grisham Master Teacher Series recognition.
The university's 2013 Grisham Master Teacher selection, she will speak on the topic "Starfish Education: Living My Dream and Making a Difference." Open to all, the 2 p.m. Center for Teaching and Learning-sponsored program takes place in the Grisham Room of Mitchell Memorial Library.
Walters is a 1988 MSU mathematics graduate who went on complete a master's degree in the subject from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in 1991.
Recognizing teaching excellence since 1993, the Grisham Master Teacher Awards program is made possible by a gift from the best-selling author and MSU accounting alumnus for whom it is named.
In expressing her appreciation for being selected for the honor, Walters said she plans "to share how I try to make a difference in the lives of my students."
