Mississippi State University's EcoCAR 2 Team was recognized during Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant's Energy Summit in Jackson last Thursday for excellence in alternative vehicle design.
The team was greeted by summit keynote speaker and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Earlier this year, the MSU team was named the year-one winner of the "EcoCAR 2: Plugging into the Future" competition with 14 other competitively selected universities.
The EcoCAR 2 competition is funded by General Motors and the U.S. Department of Energy. The MSU team won the first phase of the EcoCAR competition as well.
