Training sessions for CPR and first aid Dec. 13

The Office of Regulatory Compliance and Safety and Human Resources Management are partnering to bring Medic First Aid Basic certification training to Mississippi State University. After participating in the one-day session delivered by MSU Safety Officer Alicia Musselwhite, attendees will be certified to administer CPR and first aid.

Medic First Aid Basic is an adult CPR and first aid training program designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This program will help MSU departments in responding to and caring for medical emergencies at work. Topics covered in the program include assessment, personal safety, clearing and protecting the airway, chest compressions, control of bleeding, managing shock, warning signs of illness and more.

All MSU employees are welcome to participate in the training. Departments with a high incidence of safety concerns should strongly consider sending a representative to become certified.

Each class is limited to 12 participants and a minimum of seven attendees must be present to hold the class. Please wear comfortable clothes to the session.

The next training session will be held:

Tuesday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room 231, Colvard Student Union
