Clint Black brings acoustic tour to the MSU Riley Center
Clint Black
The story of Clint Black’s musical success is easy to tell by the numbers. Of course, his story is much more than numbers, but the sheer volume of his work, the staggering popularity of his traditional style, and the measured success in his industry is hard to quantify any other way.
Black has been pleasing fans for 25 years, and on May 31 at 7:30 pm, he and his band come to the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian for an acoustic performance in an intimate stage setting. A pre-show reception will take place at 6 p.m.
During the past quarter century, Black has written, recorded and released more than 100 songs. He has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. His 1989 debut album, “Killin’ Time,” racked up five number one singles and a slew of awards. The album eventually went triple platinum, and the title track was named by CMT as one of the 100 greatest songs in country music history.
Most recently, country music website The Boot ranked Black’s duet with wife Lisa Hartman Black, “When I Said I Do,” as number three on its top 10 list of country wedding songs.
