Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show this month
The newest technology and machinery used to advance the South’s timber industry will be demonstrated August 26-27 at the Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show. Held at the John W. Starr Memorial Forest off Highway 25 south of Starkville, the show is sponsored by Mississippi State University’s College of Forest Resources, Hatton-Brown Publishers Inc., the Mississippi Loggers Association and the Mississippi Forestry Association.
Deadline for travel grant applications Aug. 19
The Southeastern Conference Visiting Faculty Travel Grant Program is intended to enhance faculty collaboration that stimulates scholarly initiatives between SEC universities. Mississippi State University can select a maximum of eight faculty members to receive 2016-2017 travel grants of $1,250 each for transportation, room, board, etc., to use for travel to another SEC campus. Assistant, associate and full professors are eligible.

Institutional Repository now accepting submissions
The new MSU Institutional Repository is now online and accepting submissions. The repository -- available at http://ir.library.msstate.edu -- is a central digital archive for collecting, organizing, preserving, and sharing Mississippi State's history, intellectual and scholarly creations, and research data.

Fan Day set for Aug. 20 at Palmeiro Center
Mississippi State supporters can meet the 2016 Bulldog football and volleyball teams at the annual Fan Day celebration on Aug. 20 inside the Palmeiro Center. Doors open at 3 p.m. with autograph availability running from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Fans are asked to enter through the southeast entrance of the Palmeiro Center. The football and volleyball teams will arrive at 3:30 p.m.
Clear bag policy in place for Davis Wade Stadium
In an effort to enhance fan safety, Mississippi State will implement a new clear bag policy for the 2016 football season at Davis Wade Stadium. The policy, which takes effect for the Sept. 3 season-opener against South Alabama, is consistent with the NFL's current model and being adopted by most Southeastern Conference schools this season, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee and South Carolina.
