More than 27 nations were represented earlier this month at Mississippi State’s 26th annual International Fiesta. Sponsored by the Starkville World Neighbors Association, the springtime cultural extravaganza on the university’s historic Drill Field showcases campus diversity through a variety of fun activities, including a parade of national flags. LEAP program now accepting applications
The 2016 Leadership Excellence for Accomplished Professionals (LEAP) program at Mississippi State is now accepting applications. The goal and purpose of LEAP is to empower new supervisors and extremely high performing professional staff with a heightened self-awareness, advanced knowledge, and value-added leadership in a secure, but challenging environment.
I Bleed Maroon blood drive underway
The 2nd-annual United Blood Services I Bleed Maroon blood drive kicked off Sunday at Mississippi State and continues through Friday. Two hundred and twenty units were collected during last year's event, and organizers hope to collect 300 pints of blood this week. Donors will receive a free t-shirt and points toward special gifts. They also will be entered into a daily prize package drawing.
Clothing and food drive at Mitchell Memorial Library
The Maroon Volunteer Center at Mississippi State details a number of volunteer opportunities for the campus community on its website and in its newsletter this week, including information about MSU Libraries' clothing and food drive in honor of National Library Week, Autism Awareness Month, the Cotton District Arts Festival, Oktibbeha County Head Start, and a clothing drive to benefit MSU students who are also parents.
