MAFES Sales Store selling local raw, shelled peanuts
Mississippi State University fans can cheer for a new food product this fall. The MAFES Sales Store has added Bully’s Peanuts to its line of products. The store will carry 5-pound bags and 5-pound boxes of Mississippi-grown, raw, shelled peanuts. “These peanuts are suitable for roasting, boiling, making peanut brittle or any other recipe that calls for peanuts,” said manager Troy Weaver.

Parking areas closed for Evans Hall demolition
Parking areas south and north of Evans Hall at Mississippi State University are now closed by a construction fence in preparation for an upcoming demolition project. This closure will remain in place during construction of a new residence hall, which is expected to be in use in August 2016.

Register today for CERT half-marathon, 5K
The Community Emergency Response Team at Mississippi State is hosting The Preparathon -- a half-marathon, 5K, half-mile family fun run and Emergency Preparedness Fair -- in mid-October. Proceeds from the races will benefit the Oktibbeha County Volunteer Fire Departments, OSERVS and the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services.
Sports Hall of Fame to roast Jackie Sherrill
The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame's roast of the winningest coach in Mississippi State football history will be held Sept. 9 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson. Jackie Sherrill, who grew up in Biloxi, played college football at Alabama and also had successful coaching stints at Pittsburgh and Texas A&M, will be roasted by his former players and associates, including Tony Dorsett who played for Sherrill at Pittsburgh.
HailState.com redesign revealed
The start of the 2014 fall athletics season at Mississippi State sees a new HailState.com. "The primary focus in our redesign process was outfitting HailState.com with technology that best allows our fans to access it on any device they are using. Mississippi State fans have gone mobile more and more each year and our new site is a simplified experience for all fans with a focus toward the ever-growing mobile segment," MSU Senior Associate Athletic Director Scott Wetherbee said.
