PCSW accepting Outstanding Women nominations
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Outstanding Women Awards Program, sponsored by the President's Commission on the Status of Women. Nomination packets are due no later than Feb. 21.

Recycling change: No more glass in bins, please
Mississippi State's single-stream recycling program has now been in place for more than a year. The program has fundamentally changed the way the university collects recyclables and trash on campus. However, due to a contractor change, MSU can no longer collect glass as part of the recycling stream.

Faculty invited to Fulbright information session
Fulbright Ambassador Charles A. Johnson, senior vice president for research at Texas A&M University, will visit Mississippi State on Feb. 14 to support the university's growing Fulbright faculty program.

Diversity Award nomination period now open
The President's Commission on the Status of Minorities is accepting nominations for the 2012 MSU Diversity Awards. The annual awards program is designed to recognize individuals and teams of individuals who have demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing diversity at Mississippi State University.

Register now for February PERS workshop
Human Resources Management at Mississippi State is sponsoring a Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) workshop on Feb. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bost Extension Center on the Starkville campus. The workshop is free for university employees, but pre-registration is required.

Men's Basketball is on the road to Oxford for an 8 p.m. tipoff against Ole Miss on Wednesday (CSS-TV), and then travels to Nashville on Saturday for a 6 p.m. game against Vanderbilt (ESPN2)... Women's Basketball plays Ole Miss in Oxford on Thursday at 7 p.m., and hosts Auburn at 2 p.m. on Sunday... Men's Tennis plays Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich., on Friday and Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday... Track & Field competes in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday.

Winter to keynote MLK Jr. Unity Breakfast Monday
The Mississippi governor considered to be among the most progressive state leaders of the 20th century is the keynote speaker Monday for Mississippi State's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast. The 7-9 a.m. public event with William F. Winter takes place in the Bill Foster Ballroom of the university's Colvard Student Union.

Dunaway named Arts and Sciences associate dean
A Mississippi State faculty member with an extensive background in criminal justice and sociology is the new associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. As associate dean of academic affairs and student services in the university's largest academic unit, Gregory Dunaway coordinates all aspects of the undergraduate programs, including curriculum issues, student advising and awards, and scholarships.

Surrette named research center director
Sherry Bell Surrette has been named the new head of Mississippi State University's Central Research and Extension Center in Raymond. As director, she will oversee the daily operations of this regional facility, one of four located across the state to meet the information, research and programming needs of Mississippians.

EASE 2011 participants gain knowledge
Participants in the 2011 Education for Administrative Support Employees (EASE) sessions took advantage of the opportunity to boost their knowledge during the 12-week training program, which is designed to provide new administrative support staff with the tools to perform their jobs effectively.
