Monday deadline for Jefcoat Advising Awards
The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President is seeking nominations for Mississippi State's Irvin Atly Jefcoat Excellence in Advising Awards. The Jefcoat awards honor both a full-time MSU faculty adviser and a full-time staff adviser for his or her contributions to student advising. The deadline to submit applications is this Monday at 5 p.m.
Egg Ball serves up fun, child assistance this month
A variety of auction items will be available for purchase Nov. 25 during the second Mississippi KIDS COUNT Egg Ball at Mississippi State's Hunter Henry Center. Based at the university, Mississippi KIDS COUNT is the leading resource for comprehensive research and information on the state's children.
Chinese artist's first solo U.S. exhibit at MSU
Beginning Monday, Chinese artist Jiatian Li visits Mississippi State to exhibit his work and give painting demonstrations as part of the International Education Week observance. The university showing is the artist's first solo exhibition in the U.S.
Extended hours, holiday orders for MSU products
The staff at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Sales Store, located on Mississippi State University's campus, is encouraging patrons to place orders now for the holidays and to take advantage of products that make great additions to the tailgate. The store's famous cheese and other products sell quickly during the holiday season.
MAFES Sales Store offers a boneless ham
Long known for its cheeses, Mississippi State University now has a fully cooked, boneless ham available in time to reduce cooking stress and adorn holiday tables. Made in Mississippi and packaged at a processing facility in Magee, the 5-pound V Ham is sold in the MAFES Sales Store, which is a unit of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.
Cristil, Salter signing books before Egg Bowl
Jack Cristil and author Sid Salter will be selling and signing Salter's just-released biography of the university's legendary sports announcer before Mississippi State's final home football game on Nov. 26.

Women's Basketball hosts Xavier at 7 p.m. on Monday and Alcorn State at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs play Texas A&M in College Station on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. as part of the 2011 Super Series Challenge... Men's Basketball faces Texas A&M in Madison Square Garden in New York City in the 2K Classic on Thursday at 6 p.m. and will play St. John's or Arizona on Friday at TBA. Volleyball hosts Ole Miss on Friday at 7 p.m. and Alabama at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday... Football is on the road to Little Rock for a 2:30 p.m. game against Arkansas on Saturday. CBS and the MSU Radio Network have the broadcast.
