Jack Cristil book orders now being accepted
Orders are now being accepted for the biography of Mississippi State's legendary sports broadcaster. "Jack Cristil: The Voice of the Bulldogs" is written by university alumnus and veteran newsman Sid Salter. Best-selling author and fellow alumnus John Grisham is providing the book's foreword.

Soccer hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday at 7 p.m. and Lipscomb at 2 p.m. on Sunday... Volleyball opens play at the Lamar Tournament in Beaumont, Texas on Friday... Football is on the road to Auburn for an 11:21 a.m. kickoff against the Tigers on Saturday. The game will be televised by SEC Network affiliates.

Maroon milestone: Fall enrollment surpasses 20,000
Mississippi State University surpassed the 20,000 student enrollment milestone with a 2011 fall semester headcount of 20,424, a 3.97 percent increase from last year. "This all-time record enrollment figure, especially the high percentage of students from Mississippi, is a strong indication of the confidence those students have in our ability to help them become the future leaders of our state and nation," President Mark E. Keenum said.
B.B. King concert heading toward sellout
A limited number of tickets remain at Mississippi State for the Oct. 11 concert by blues music legend B.B. King. Fewer than 200 seats are left in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium for the 7:30 p.m. event sponsored by the university's Lyceum Series, according to Raymond Brooks.
Thursday opening reception set for Welty exhibit
A current art exhibit at Mississippi State showcases photography by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Eudora Welty. An opening reception for the exhibit, "Eudora Welty in Context: Representing Race in New Deal Photography," takes place Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the McComas Gallery.
HRM hosting Health and Benefits Fair Sept. 13
Human Resources Management at Mississippi State will host the 2011 Health and Benefits Fair for faculty and staff Sept. 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Colvard Student Union Foster Ballroom, which is located on the second floor.
