Maroon Volunteer Center sets 9/11 'I WILL' events
As the country marks the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Maroon Volunteer Center has partnered with Volunteer Starkville to organize a number of events to support the 9/11 I WILL Tribute campaign and the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
Deeds recognized by national association

Volunteer families needed for Borderless Hosts
The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center's Borderless Hosts program is seeking volunteer host families and international students for the fall and spring semesters. The program pairs an MSU international student with a local family and gives both an opportunity for cultural learning and understanding.
Alum returns for special vocal performance
A Mississippi State alumnus and rising New York operatic baritone will give a special recital Thursday at his alma mater. Corey McKern will be featured in a free 7:30 p.m. program in the Robert and Freda Harrison Auditorium of Giles Hall.
Jack Cristil book orders now being accepted
Orders are now being accepted for the biography of Mississippi State's legendary sports broadcaster. "Jack Cristil: The Voice of the Bulldogs" is written by university alumnus and veteran newsman Sid Salter. Best-selling author and fellow alumnus John Grisham is providing the book's foreword.

Soccer hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday at 7 p.m. and Lipscomb at 2 p.m. on Sunday... Volleyball opens play at the Lamar Tournament in Beaumont, Texas on Friday... Football is on the road to Auburn for an 11:21 a.m. kickoff against the Tigers on Saturday. The game will be televised by SEC Network affiliates.
