ITS: 'onCampus' changing to 'myState' Friday night
Mississippi State University's web portal is being rebranded from "onCampus" to "myState" to more appropriately convey its role as a personal, customizable gateway to web-based systems and services.
Some of the more notable services accessed through the portal include myCourses, myMedia, myBanner, BullyMail, and administrative Banner.
The change will be made the night of Friday, July 22, and so on Saturday, July 23 users will notice the following differences:
--The URL of the portal will have changed from http://oncampus.msstate.edu to http://my.msstate.edu. The old URL will remain active and will continue to work at least through January 31, 2012, to allow time for documentation and other materials that currently reference "onCampus" to be updated.
--The portal login page will feature a sleeker, less cluttered layout, which will facilitate mobile device access.
--Students who currently have a "myMSU" tab within the portal will see that it has been merged with the "Main" tab.
--The link in the upper right portion of the MSU main page, www.msstate.edu, will have changed from "onCampus" to "myState."
