Sandi Patty's farewell tour launches MSU Riley Center series

Sandi Patty, whose ethereal soprano voice has made her a star of contemporary Christian music for more than three decades, will kick off the MSU Riley Center 2016 Spring/Summer Series on March 10 at 7:30 p.m. The show will be part of Forever Grateful: The Farewell Tour, which will be her last-ever concert tour.

Patty is using her farewell tour to turn the spotlight on a new generation of artists. Four of her children will perform with her. She promises to showcase as many of her hits as she can squeeze in -- and there are a lot of them. She will also introduce new material from “Forever Grateful,” a new album released to coincide with the tour.

Patty has won five Grammy Awards and 38 Dove Awards, including 11 consecutive Doves for Female Vocalist of the Year, from 1982 through 1992. She said she looks forward to thanking her fans for their support.

“That’s why we’re calling the tour Forever Grateful,” she said. “It’s not so much about saying goodbye as it is saying thank you.”

Tickets are $55 and $49 at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.msurileycenter.com or by calling the box office at 601-696-2200.
