134th MSU birthday party in the Junction on Tuesday
Mississippi State University celebrates the 134th anniversary of its founding with a Tuesday, Feb. 28 birthday party.
Free and open to all, the MSU Alumni Association-sponsored campus celebration will take place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Junction. Hamburgers, chips, cookies, soft drinks, and MSU ice cream will be provided, while supplies last.
MSU Dining Services also is preparing a giant cake to be served during the event.
"The birthday party is such a fun celebration for our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends each year," said Jimmy Abraham, associate vice president for development and alumni and executive director of the MSU Alumni Association. "It is a great time for campus and the Starkville community to come together and celebrate the founding of our beloved university."
Campus organizations Music Maker Productions and Campus Activities Board have organized entertainment by the Big Poppa Strang band.
Free birthday T-shirts will be tossed from the performance stage at some point during the party.
