Wilkinson County Extension Office
MSU Extension
Time at MSU: 18 months
Greeting clients, sampling soil, tracking schedules, helping kids learn to cook -- Pam Johnson handles all of this and more as an office associate at the Mississippi State University Extension office in Wilkinson County.
“During the summer months, I help with cooking classes and sewing classes for elementary-age students,” Johnson said. It is really fun getting to know the kids from our area.”
Located in the Southwest corner of the state, the Wilkinson County Extension office in Woodville, Mississippi, is one of 82 Extension offices statewide. Johnson helps coordinate Extension events, including the Oct. 19 Homemaker Volunteers Fall Bazaar.
“One of the things I love about Extension is meeting new people and being able to help answer their questions,” Johnson said.
Johnson and her husband have been married for 35 years and have two grown children, both of whom are teachers. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading and singing at church. Each year, she and her daughter take a trip together, and, she said, sometimes, her son will join them on the trip
