Bagley announces program rankings from the American Society for Engineering Education

Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering programs are being recognized by the American Society for Engineering Education 2021 By the Numbers report, with four ranked in the top 50.

“I am pleased to see the impact that the Bagley College of Engineering is having on the engineering workforce through our graduates as reported by ASEE,” Dean Jason Keith said. “Our students continue to be in high demand because of the skills that we teach in our industry-focused curriculum.”

In the American Society for Engineering Education annual rankings, the Bagley College of Engineering was also ranked No. 35 in the country for total bachelor’s degrees awarded, and No. 49 in the country for total undergraduate students enrolled.

Additionally, four individual degree programs were recognized for the total degrees awarded by the engineering discipline. The Bagley College of Engineering was recognized for its diversity efforts by achieving top 50 rankings in total undergraduate degrees awarded to African American students and total undergraduate degrees awarded to female students.

“These rankings speak volumes about the dedication of our engineering faculty to our students and their education and in the high caliber of engineers that we send out into the workforce,” Keith said.

The rankings are:

-- Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, ranked No. 11 in degrees awarded

-- Bachelor of Civil Engineering, ranked No. 27 in degrees awarded

-- Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, ranked No. 29 in degrees awarded

-- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, ranked No. 44 in degrees awarded

-- Total bachelor’s degrees awarded to African American students, ranked No. 11

-- Total bachelor’s degrees awarded to female students, ranked No. 46

-- Total bachelor’s degrees awarded, ranked No. 36

-- Total undergraduate students enrolled, ranked No. 49
