Reichley named Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish deputy director

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish is pleased to announce that Stephen Reichley of Mississippi State University will serve as the program’s new deputy director. Reichley is the associate director of the Mississippi State University Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security and an assistant professor at MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine.

“The Fish Innovation Lab is making tremendous strides at alleviating poverty and improving nutrition through the inclusion of fish in vulnerable populations around the world,” said Reichley. “I am honored and humbled to step into this leadership position. I look forward to leveraging my experience and network to continue to advance the impactful activities of the Lab.”

As deputy director, Reichley will support the Fish Innovation Lab management entity in technical administration of its 20 active projects in 11 countries. Reichley also will continue to serve as the lab’s risk mitigation specialist, overseeing approaches to reduce and mitigate risks to fish production systems across the lab’s activities.

“Dr. Reichley’s experience in aquatic animal health and collaborations with global research partners make him an asset to the Fish Innovation Lab management entity,” said Fish Innovation Lab Director Mark Lawrence. “We’re delighted to have him serve in this new role, and we look forward to his contributions to the program.”
