ORED announces research development office restructure and rebranding
Interim Vice President for Research and Economic Development Julie Jordan is announcing a restructure and rebranding of Mississippi State University's Office of Proposal Development, previously a unit within the Office of Sponsored Projects, to become a stand-alone office, now named the Office of Research Development.
Jordan issued the following statement:
“I am pleased to announce that we are restructuring and rebranding the Office of Proposal Development to make it a stand-alone unit within the Office of Research and Economic Development. In 2018, Dr. Shaw initiated proposal development services within the Office of Sponsored Projects. Since then, the team has done an outstanding job and demonstrated a need for ORED to provide research proposal development services. The newly named Office of Research Development will report directly to ORED and continue to work closely with OSP, as well as research administrators in our colleges, centers and institutes. Effective May 1, Stephanie Hyche, currently serving as OSP associate director, becomes the director of the Office of Research Development.
“We plan to add new staff to this office and push forward as we roll into the new fiscal year. As MSU continues to hit new milestones in research awards, ORED remains focused on new approaches to support our talented faculty and scientists. Please contact Stephanie if you need assistance in the research development process at sth207@msstate.edu or 662-325-7395. Her office is located at 140 Morgan Avenue on the south side of campus.”
