DAFVM Spotlight Employee: Courtney Headley
Courtney Headley
Courtney Headley has worked as an administrative assistant in the State 4-H office for 12 years. Her responsibilities include supporting Extension agents in counties around Mississippi as well as helping prepare with upcoming 4-H events.
“I love the people I work with and the children at the 4-H events,” Courtney said. “There are some very caring people within Extension and I feel blessed to know them and help them however I can.”
Courtney worked as a bank teller for many years but felt as though she would fit better somewhere else. She applied to Extension to work with 4-H, and she has loved it ever since.
In her career, she interacts with several people on a daily basis, so she has to be a people-person to make her clients feel welcome.
“4-H has become a big part of my life at the office and at home,” said Courtney. “I am so proud to say I work for 4-H Youth Development at Mississippi State and to tell all about what 4-H has to offer.”
In her spare time, she volunteers in Oktibbeha County as a 4-H club leader and has had a very successful club for 11 years.
