Friday deadline for Faculty Leadership Program nominations
The Office of Research and Economic and Development and the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President will lead Mississippi State's Faculty Leadership Program in the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year.
This academic leadership orientation program for selected faculty has been very successful in the past, and many of its participants serve in key university leadership positions today.
For this coming year, attendance will be limited to approximately 12 individuals who will be selected from those that apply. Eligible faculty include associate professors who have held this rank for at least two years (since Aug. 16, 2015), and those with the rank of professor. Eligible faculty must be nominated by their center director, department head, or dean.
To apply, interested faculty should send a one-page summary addressing their future career plans, a current abbreviated CV (3-5 pages maximum) and a one-page nomination letter from their center director, department head or dean. The nomination letter should provide detailed insight as to why this faculty member should be selected.
Application materials should be emailed to Lynn Taylor at ltaylor@research.msstate.edu no later than Friday [May 25]. Selections will be made and announced prior to the start of the fall semester.
The format of the leadership program consists of two-hour seminar sessions once per month from August to April. A wide variety of topics will be covered by senior leaders at MSU. Questions concerning this program should be addressed to Assistant Vice President for Research Teresa Gammill at tgammill@research.msstate.edu 662-325-3570.
