Arts and Sciences recognizes faculty for outstanding achievements

Each year the College of Arts and Sciences at Mississippi State recognizes faculty for outstanding achievements in the areas of teaching and research.
In recognition of excellence in teaching, the 2017 recipients are Kimberly Kelly, Department of Sociology, Social and Behavioral Science; Andrea Spain, Department of English, Humanities; and Robert Banik, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Natural and Physical Sciences.
The College’s 2017 Research Award recipients are Samuel Winer, Department of Psychology, Social and Behavioral Sciences; Alison Collis Greene, Department of History, Humanities; and Nicholas Fitzkee, Department of Chemistry, Natural and Physical Sciences and Math.
Additionally, each spring the dean recognizes faculty who have made lasting impact to the College of Arts and Sciences and Mississippi State University. This year’s Legacy Award recipients are Nancy Hargrove, professor emerita of English; Janet Rafferty, professor emerita of anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures; and Corlis Johnson, associate professor of math and statistics.
The College of Arts and Sciences is proud of its talented faculty and the faculty’s achievements in both teaching and research.
