Former Bulldog Brad Corley joins baseball staff
Mississippi State University baseball coach John Cohen has announced the addition of former Bulldog standout Brad Corley to the MSU staff as an undergraduate assistant.
Corley, from Louisville, Ky., was a three-year starting outfielder at Mississippi State from 2003 to 2005. He hit .380 with 19 home runs and 55 RBI his sophomore season en route to earning all-America and All-Southeastern Conference honors in 2004.
Corley was drafted in the second round by Pittsburgh Pirates in 2005 following his junior campaign at State. He then played five seasons in professional baseball before returning to MSU in 2011 to complete his undergraduate degree work.
He is married to the former Emily Meyers of Bay St. Louis, a member of the Mississippi State soccer team from 2002 to 2005.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to begin formal fall baseball practice Sept. 23 at Dudy Noble Field.
