Keb’ Mo’ Returns to MSU Riley Center this week
A favorite performer is returning to help the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian celebrate its 10th-anniversary season. On Friday [Oct. 21] at 7:30 p.m., the Riley Center presents "An Evening with Keb’ Mo’ and His Band."
As a bonus, concertgoers can enjoy free refreshments at a pre-show party starting at 6 p.m.
Keb’ Mo’ is a three-time Grammy Award winner and a respected blues and roots rock singer, guitarist and songwriter. His songs have been recorded by everyone from blues legend B.B. King to country’s Zac Brown Band. After years as a favorite of blues aficionados, he broke out to wider attention when his performance of “I See Love,” which Mo’ co-wrote, became the theme song for the TV show “Mike & Molly.”
In concert, Mo’ delights audiences with his easygoing charm and dazzles them with his tastefully brilliant guitar work. Mo’s latest album, “That Hot Pink Blues Album,” features live performances from his 2015 tour.
It led Colin McGuire of the website PopMatters to enthuse in his review, “This guy is still one of the best players in all of the genre.”
Audiences already know that from his two previous appearances at the MSU Riley Center. Now they have a chance to enjoy Mo’ magic in a show that’s sure to sell out.
Tickets are $50 and $44 at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can be purchased online at www.msurileycenter.com or by calling the box office at 601-696-2200.
