T.K. Martin Center to host 'Super Fun Run' Friday
Individuals of all ages are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero and participate in the T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability’s ‘Super Fun Run’ Friday [Sept. 30] at Mississippi State.
Sponsored by Cadence Bank, the event starts at the center on Hardy Road, next to the John C. Longest Student Health Center.
Participants will run the one-mile course featuring “loud and wacky stations” staffed with volunteers from various campus organizations.
“This fun run event is something we look forward to each year,” said Janie Cirlot-New, the center’s director. “We are constantly amazed at the outpouring of support from campus organizations and the Starkville community.”
“Our Project IMPACT students benefit tremendously thanks to the donations and contributions from the run,” she added.
Race registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and the fun run starts at 6:15 p.m. Entry fees are $20 for individuals, and $35 for an immediate family of two or more.
Event proceeds benefit the T.K. Martin Center’s Project IMPACT early intervention preschool program for children with special needs. For more on the program, visit www.tkmartin.msstate.edu/projects/impact.php.
The Day One Leadership Community at MSU is an additional sponsor.
Donations to the Project IMPACT program also are accepted. To contribute, call the center at 662-325-1028 or visit the MSU Foundation online at www.msufoundation.com and designate your gift specifically for the program.
Named for MSU’s late vice president who led in making the university more accessible to those with physical challenges, the T.K.
