Spotlight shining on Cunetto theatre exhibit
The spotlight is shining on a new University Libraries exhibit.
"Selections from the Dominic J. Cunetto Collection: Mississippi State University Theatre Productions" is on display throughout the month of July in Mitchell Memorial Library's Information Mall. Featuring photographs, scrapbooks, news clippings and program covers, this new exhibit highlights the work of the late Dominic J. Cunetto, professor emeritus and founder of the land-grant institution's theatre program.
Cunetto retired in 1991 after having influenced hundreds of students through a very strong theatre program. During his 28 years at MSU, he taught courses in theatre and directed more than 80 productions. In addition, much of the major building project for the University Theatre in McComas Hall can be attributed to his work toward the creation of a true academic theatre on MSU's campus.
This new exhibit is viewable during regular hours, and the complete Dominic J. Cunetto Collection may be researched by contacting MSU Libraries' University Archives at 662-325-7680.
