Keenum to keynote Boy Scout recognition dinner

Mark E. Keenum, president of Mississippi State University, will be the keynote speaker for the upcoming Boy Scouts of America Pushmataha Area Council recognition dinner.
Set for Feb. 6 at The Mill at MSU Conference Center, the event will spotlight 2015 Eagle Class honoree Tom Morgan of Starkville. The doors open at 6 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. program, which will include the presentation of the Silver Beaver Award, the council’s highest honor.
Keenum said of his selection to address the local scouting community, "I salute the work of this great organization in helping prepare young men to be the leaders of tomorrow. It is a privilege for me to participate in this very special event."
The university’s 19th president has guided the university to unprecedented enrollment, fundraising, and facility expansion and construction.
Reservations for the event must be made by Jan. 29. Cost to attend is $25 for adults and $10 for those 12 years old and under. All 2015 Eagle Scouts are admitted free of charge.
The Pushmataha Council, established in 1925, provides character development and skills training to Boy Scout units in 10 counties of North Mississippi.
