DAFVM Spotlight Employee: Ashley Patterson
Ashley Patterson
Some things run in the family, and for Ashley Patterson, it’s a head for business.
Ashley recently changed jobs within the MSU Extension Service. After serving for a little more than a year as a Community Resource Development Agent in Lincoln County, she became a business manager for the Southwest Region.
Located in the Central Research and Extension Center in Raymond, Ashley manages the region’s budget, provides fiscal oversight for county budgets, coordinates human resource activities, and provides administrative support to Dr. Sherry Surrette, head of the Central R&E Center.
“I love working with staff in the southwest region and on campus,” Ashley said. “I’ve enjoyed getting to know and work with the people of Extension and MSU. I’m fortunate to be associated with such passionate, hard-working people.”
Ashley said her mother was a finance manager for most of her life, and her career choice may be genetic.
“Like my mom, I enjoy mathematics, problem solving and zero balances!” she said.
Ashley enjoys cooking, shopping, traveling and spending time with family friends, but she also likes to kick back and watch TV and movies, especially action, adventure, and comedy shows.
She is newly married to Ken Patterson.
