Public reception Thursday for new mural
Faculty, staff, students and the local community are invited to the public unveiling of a new mural at Mississippi State's Longest Student Health Center on Thursday [Oct. 22] from 5-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
McKinnon Herring, a Mississippi State senior in art/painting, developed the large wall painting after studying large-scale public art with her professor, Brent Funderburk. Her design proposal was chosen by Longest Student Health Center staff, led by Sue Bennett and Robert Cadenhead.
The project was funded by an undergraduate research grant from the Office of Research and Economic Development at MSU, and the Longest Student Health Center, with support from the MSU Department of Art in the College of Architecture, Art and Design.
Longest Student Health Center is located at the corner of Hardy and Morrill roads on the Starkville campus.
