You're invited: FAA press conference, public meeting
If you would like to learn more about Mississippi State's leading role in the new FAA National Center for Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, join the Office of Research and Economic Development on Tuesday [Sept. 15] for a special event to discuss research projects and opportunities to partner with the center, as well as remarks by the FAA’s Southern Region Administrator Dennis Roberts.
Members of the local community, media, and students, faculty and staff are welcome.
During a press conference beginning at 11 a.m. at the Bryan Athletic Administration Building on the MSU campus, participants will discuss the agency’s new national Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and its role in developing rules regulating commercial unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
A live UAS flight demonstration is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
A public meeting beginning at noon will cover information about how to do business with ASSURE, as well as an overview of current research.
