Helveston named Riley conference sales manager
Suzanne Helveston has been named conference sales manager for the historic MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian. She will handle outside sales for conference and corporate business, as well as general marketing.
The Meridian native has a wide range of experience in sales, including work as an account executive for M'Prints, which supplies promotional products for companies and events, and for Mitchell Distributing as consumer awareness education coordinator. She was also a pharmaceutical sales representative for more than five years with Abbott Laboratories and Boehringer Ingelheim.
"I am thrilled to join the team at the MSU Riley Center," Helveston said. "The center has been instrumental in the revitalization of downtown Meridian and a key player in the economic development of the community."
Housed in a complex of renovated 19th Century buildings, the MSU Riley Center contains 30,000 feet of high-tech meeting space, including a large exhibit hall, breakout rooms and boardrooms. Also available for conference use are a 200-seat studio theater and the 1889 Grand Opera House restored as a theater and performing arts space. The range of spaces can accommodate intimate sessions for as few as 20 or large gatherings of up to 750.
"We are planning to take a more active approach to selling the MSU Riley Center, and the image and quality brand that has been established over the past six years," said executive director Dennis Sankovich. "I am very excited to have a qualified sales person actively going out to potential clients throughout the state to market the center and its conference capabilities."
