Groupware authority to share creativity 'spark'
A nationally recognized authority on the application of computer information systems to help people involved in a common task achieve their goals will speak Friday [April 8] at Mississippi State University.
"Sparking Creativity: Improving Group Brainstorming with a Supraliminal Priming Computer Game" is the topic of Alan Dennis' presentation, to begin at 11:30 a.m. in 208 McCool Hall.
The free 90-minute program is another in the Visiting Scholar Series of the university's College of Business.
Dennis holds the John T. Chambers Chair of Internet Systems at Indiana University. Over a 25-year career, his primary research has dealt with collaboration technologies--also known as groupware--with a special focus on idea creation, creativity and information exchange in decision making and individual cognition.
A consistent contributor to major professional publications, the University of Arizona doctoral graduate has been ranked for more than two decades among the top five most prolific writers in the information system field. While on campus, Dennis also will spend time with doctoral students in business, examining various strategies for designing and publishing high-quality research papers.
