Keenum speaks at Neshoba County Fair Thursday
The historic Founder's Square pavilion at the Neshoba County Fair will host Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum for a 10:10 a.m. speech on Thursday, Aug. 1.
Keenum, along with University of Mississippi Chancellor Dan Jones, will address Fairgoers this year to promote their schools, Fair Association board member Scott Bounds tells The Neshoba Democrat.
Other officials speaking on Aug. 1 include District Attorney Mark Duncan, Chancery Court Judge Joey Kilgore, Commissioner of Agriculture Cindy Hyde-Smith, Commissioner of Insurance Mike Chaney, state Treasurer Lynn Fitch, Billy Stewart, president of East Central Community College, Speaker of the House Philip Gunn and Gov. Phil Bryant.
The Neshoba County Fair is noted by many as the political forum for the state of Mississippi. Statewide, local, and, on occasion, national politicians come to the Fair to make their speeches at the pavilion in Founder's Square. News media from around the state converge on the Fair to cover the speeches and other activities.
