Associate VP finalists' forums continue
After a nationwide search, the Office of Research and Economic Development at Mississippi State University will host three finalists for the position of associate vice president for research in June.
During their visits to Starkville, each candidate will deliver a public presentation. Interested members of the campus community are invited to attend these sessions.
The three candidates are:
Drew Hamilton, who is currently Alumni Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University and director of the Auburn Cyber Research Center. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Texas A&M University. Dr. Hamilton's presentation takes place June 5 at 2 p.m. in Mitchell Memorial Library's Grisham Room.
Alan Tree, who is currently a professor of chemical engineering at Oklahoma State University. He holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois. Dr. Tree's presentation takes place June 7 at 10 a.m. in McCool Hall's Taylor Auditorium.
Robin McCarley, who is currently an LSU Faculty Fellow, Barbara Womack LSU Alumni Association Professor, professor of analytical and materials chemistry, director of the NIEHS Superfund Training Core, and director of materials initiatives for the Center for Biomodular Multi-Scale Systems at Louisiana State University. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of North Carolina. Dr. McCarley's presentation takes place June 13 at 2 p.m. in the Swalm Suite.
Ray Vaughn, who served previously as associate vice president for research at MSU, was named vice president for research at the University of Alabama-Huntsville in March.
