MSU hosting 5K race for United Way next week
Age-group winners of Bully's 5K for United Way will receive a special Mississippi State cowbell for their achievement. The Office of the President is again providing the cowbells in support of this United Way fundraising event.
The local community is invited to help support Mississippi State University’s United Way campaign by running or walking Bully’s 5K for United Way.
Race day fun begins Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. with registration at McArthur Hall on the MSU campus. The race starts at 6:30 p.m., and the 3.1-mile course will give runners and walkers a chance to tour the land-grant institution’s beautiful and historic campus as the sun goes down.
The Halloween-themed event will give a special award this year for “Best Costume” among participants.
“We have the same course as prior years, but have changed the day and time,” said race director Les Potts. “We plan on having a lot of fun with a twilight race with plenty of glow sticks and a new Halloween theme.”
The entry fee for pre-registrants is $20, and race day registration is $25. Proceeds go to support MSU’s United Way campaign. Participants will receive a t-shirt, and age division winners and the overall walk winner will be recognized with special cowbell awards.
