Birthday celebration moved to Tuesday
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Mississippi State are invited to participate in the commemoration of the university's founding 133 year ago and to celebrate its accomplishments during a celebration Tuesday. Monday's weather forecast forced the postponement of the special event to Tuesday.
The MSU Alumni Association is hosting a birthday celebration in the Junction from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and complimentary hamburgers, chips, soft drinks, ice cream and birthday cake will be served while supplies last.
In addition, local band Big Poppa Strang will be playing. Free birthday t-shirts will be tossed from the stage.
There is no formal program for the birthday party, and everyone whose schedule permits is invited to stop by. Cadence Bank is once again the corporate sponsor for the event, and Music Maker Productions is sponsoring the band.
