Book discussion Wednesday 'Doing Bad by Doing Good'
Mississippi State University is hosting a book panel discussion on Christopher Coyne's forthcoming book, "Doing Bad by Doing Good: Why Humanitarian Action Fails," on March 6 at 5:30 p.m., in Colvard Student Union's Ballroom U.
"Doing Bad by Doing Good" argues that an array of knowledge constraints and perverse political incentives contribute to the ongoing failure of state-led humanitarian efforts to alleviate human suffering.
Three economics professors from George Mason University, including the author, and four MSU professors -- Barry Barnett, Department of Agricultural Economics; Lindsey Peterson, Department of Sociology; Brian Shoup, Department of Political Science and Public Administration; Claudia Williamson, Department of Finance and Economics -- will provide interdisciplinary comments on the material presented in Coyne’s "Doing Bad by Doing Good."
