The auditors are coming: What do you do? How do you prepare?
Your day starts out as an average day in the department, but the telephone rings and it quickly changes. You find out that an auditor is coming to Mississippi State and your project has been selected for review.
What do you do next? How do you prepare? Who should you contact for help? What documents will you need? There are many things that can be done ahead of time to prepare you for the possibility of an audit.
Our resident experts on campus -- Richard Swann, Director, Sponsored Programs Administration; Melanie Honeycutt, Auditor, Internal Audit; and Denise Peeples, Assistant Controller, Sponsored Programs Accounting -- will share their knowledge in making preparations for an audit during a free training session on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 2-4 p.m. in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium.
