Public forums set this week for associate VP for research finalists
The Office of Research and Economic Development invites interested members of the Mississippi State community to attend public forums with two finalists for the position of associate vice president for research. The sessions will be held in Colvard Student Union’s Fowlkes Auditorium.
Allen Parrish will deliver his presentation on Monday [Dec. 11] at 10 a.m. He is currently a professor of cyber science and the founding chair of the Department of Cyber Science at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Previously, he was associate vice president for research, professor of computer science, and founding director of the Center for Advanced Public Safety at the University of Alabama.
Venkat Bommisetty will deliver his presentation at 10 a.m. on Wednesday [Dec. 13]. He is currently the managing director of the Center for Chemistry at the Space-Time Limit at the University of California, Irvine. Previously, he was founder and chief scientific officer for NextGen Solar, a start-up company in photovoltaics and nanomaterials. He has also held faculty and administrative positions at South Dakota State University.
