Blood Sweat & Tears with Bo Bice to take stage at MSU Riley Center
A classic rock legend and an “American Idol” favorite join forces as the MSU Riley Center presents "Blood Sweat & Tears Featuring Bo Bice" on June 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Blood Sweat & Tears burst onto the music scene in the late 1960s. It combined bluesy rock ’n’ roll with jazzy horns to create an entirely new sound on such hits as “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.”
Alabama-born Bo Bice, runner-up to Carrie Underwood on the “American Idol” TV talent contest in 2005, adds a bit of a Southern accent to the musical mix with his rich lead vocals. He’s cut his trademark long hair, but he retains his magnetic, smiling stage presence and brings his own generation of fans.
Founding member and former drummer Bobby Colomby, who controls the Blood Sweat & Tears name, has brought in all new musicians for this edition of the band.
“With this updated version, I want this band to gain recognition with a wider audience,” he said. “I want people of all ages to experience what this music has to offer.”
The combination of old favorite songs and new energy will make for a great concert.
Tickets are $55 and $49 at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and an hour before showtime on the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased online at www.msurileycenter.com or by phone through the box office at (601) 696-2200.
