MSU Libraries offering Mendeley, Scopus information sessions for researchers, students
Members of the campus community are invited to join MSU Libraries on Monday [April 24] for two information sessions about tools that can help researchers and students.
Faculty and staff researchers are invited to a lunch at noon to learn more about Mendeley, a free reference manager and academic social network. With Mendeley, you can generate bibliographies, collaborate with other researchers, and find and access papers online. Through MSU Libraries, MSU researchers also have access to Mendeley Institutional Edition, which includes premium features like 100 GB of storage and unlimited private groups for collaboration.
At 1:30 p.m., faculty and students alike are invited to a session on Scopus, a database of more than 57 million abstracts and citations of peer-reviewed literature from a wide variety of disciplines. With Scopus, you can use detailed search options refine your search, save documents to a customized list, export references to Mendeley and other citation managers, find out who's citing your own articles, and more.
Both sessions will be led by representatives from Elsevier, which develops resources, software and networks for multidisciplinary research.
