Laboratory chemical safety seminar with FBI coming up Monday

While a necessity for academic and research purposes, laboratories provide a source of chemicals that can be used to produce improvised explosives (IEDs) and other weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Local, state and federal agencies are now focusing on increasing the awareness regarding the potential nefarious use of these chemicals and the actions faculty, staff and students can take to identify and report suspicious behavior.

Join the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at Mississippi State on Monday [April 24] from 1:30-3 p.m. for a "Laboratory Chemical Security: Recognizing Suspicious Activities/Behavior" seminar in Colvard Student Union's Fowlkes Auditorium. EHS staff and FBI Special Agent Brian Otters will lead the presentation. Responsible conduct of research credit will be given for attendance.
