MSU Police: Be on the lookout for catalytic converter thieves
The Mississippi State University Police Department is asking the campus community to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity after receiving four reports last Thursday [March 9] of catalytic converter theft.
The converters were stolen from Honda and Acura vehicles, and the suspects may be using a jack to lift targeted vehicles. Cutting the converters also makes noise.
MSUPD has increased patrols, but asks the public to be alert and to report any suspicious activity by calling or texting 662-325-2121. Do not approach or confront the suspects. If it is safe to do so, watch the suspects and help the dispatcher direct police officers to them.
