Energetic DRUMLine! Live Marches into MSU Riley Center on March 18
Get ready for an earthquake of musical energy to hit downtown Meridian. DRUMLine Live! will bring its irresistible drum rhythms, brassy musical arrangements and exuberant showmanship to the MSU Riley Center for a concert on March 18 at 7:30 p.m.
DRUMLine Live developed from the marching band traditions at historically black colleges and universities. In fact, the show takes you through a day at a college football game, complete with a pep rally, the most spectacular halftime show you can imagine and even an audience-participation post-game party.
Highlights of the show include:
-- Tributes to Michael Jackson and Prince.
-- Supercharged trips through musical history.
-- A flashy hip-hop segment with drumstick work too fast for the eye to follow.
-- Funky dance moves to hit music from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
-- Musicians and dancers unleashing their creativity in an anything-goes “Express Yourself” segment.
-- And, of course, an epic drum battle with the audience deciding the winner.
The show includes lots of familiar songs in genres from ragtime and big-band music to jazz and hip-hop, all played at full throttle and all propelled by the drums.
Tickets are $48 and $42 at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and an hour before showtime on the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased online at www.msurileycenter.com or by phone through the box office at (601) 696-2200.
