Reminder: Mississippi State is now a smoke-free campus
In August 2016, Mississippi State University instituted a smoke-free campus initiative intended to create a healthier environment for everyone who lives, works and visits our campus and to support faculty, staff and students who wish to quit smoking.
Free smoking cessation classes or individual meetings are available for all students, faculty, and staff through the Department of Health Promotion and Wellness. If you are interested in participating in the free classes, please call JuLeigh Baker at 325-2141 or email jbaker@saffairs.msstate.edu.
Meeting dates for cessation classes are weekly on Monday at 2 p.m.; Tuesday at noon; Wednesday 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.; and Thursday at 4 p.m. If these times are not convenient to your schedule, please contact jbaker@saffairs.msstate.edu for an alternate time.
Additionally, through ActiveHealth Management, for all MSU employees enrolled in the insurance plan, spouses or dependents (18 or older):
-- For eligible participants, free nicotine replacement therapy, gum patches or lozenges are available.
-- Free tobacco cessation wellness coaching options are available: onsite or in person, phone contact, or online via computer.
