Center for Teaching and Learning to host variety of events
The Center for Teaching and Learning at Mississippi State will host a number of special events for interested faculty and staff in the next few weeks, including:
-- Aug. 30, 12:30-1:30 p.m.: The first in the CTL's Graduate Teaching Assistant Series is focused on Building Rapport and Establishing Structure, led by Lesley Strawderman.
-- Aug. 31, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Faculty Luncheon - Faculty Writing: Tips, Tricks, and Strategies for a Productive Semester is co-sponsored by the Maroon & Write QEP and led by Alexandra Hui, Lakiesha Williams and Deborah Lee.
-- Sept. 6, 11:30-1:00: The first in the Faculty Luncheon Series focused on Purposeful Teaching will feature a panel discussion of Teaching Beyond the Textbook with Amy Barton, Karyn Brown and Robert Linford.
-- Sept. 7, 9:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m.: Blackboard Day at MSU with four one-hour sessions.
-- Faculty Learning Community: What the Best College Teachers Do by Ken Bain discussion groups will start when enrollment reaches at least 8. Books are included. Please email abarefield@ctl.msstate.edu to register.
